I’m working really hard to make Isabel Lucas Online the most comprehensive and complete fansite for Isabel, but I need your help! I think we’re there content-wise, but the Gallery could use some help. So I’m hoping there are some generous Isabel fans out there who would be willing to help us out with the following: » Magazine scans! Isabel featured in tons of Australian magazines when she was on Home & Away – I have some of them in my collection which I will scan soon, but I know there are lots of other features that we need. I know Isabel has been featured in numerous issues of Disney Girl, Total Girl and Girlfriend, as well as many TV related magazines for Home & Away over the years. Scans of features/articles/interviews in any magazines would be greatly appreciated. » I’d also like to build up our Media section! I would love to add more of your fanart of Isabel, whether it be icons, wallpapers, banners, graphics etc. If you’ve made some fanart of Isabel Lucas and want to show it off to other fans then please get in touch and I will happily display it here! All contributions are credited. As well as the above, anything that we don’t already have here is much appreciated! I really love receiving contributions from fans, and I know Izzy has some wonderful, dedicated fans who may be able to help out with these things. If you’d like to help and can contribute something then please don’t hesitate to send me an email! Thank you |

Selecting an opening night feature for a major film festival should be like arranging to drop a bomb on the audience, but in a good way: get the crowd running, screaming and hollering as they leave the cinema, get tongues wagging and palms sweaty and pants wet, proverbially or otherwise, get them feverishly anticipating what lies ahead in what they’re dead-set convinced is going to be a “OMG how can they top this?” program of celluloid gold. Last year MIFF opened with Balibo, a film the festival financed itself. Vested interest? Absolutely. But it was a big, ballsy explosion of a war pic, a powerful experience with undeniable gravity and relevance. In short: a good choice despite the festival’s obvious bias. This year’s MIFF opening night feature was The Wedding Party, a Melbourne-based dramedy about a man, Steve (Josh Lawson) who enters an arranged marriage with a Russian woman (Isabel Lucas) in order to pocket a hefty wad of cash. It is another feature financed by a MIFF grant. Shooting for a sassy mixture of quirk, interpersonal drama and character study, director Amanda Jane succeeds in constructing a competently made, unspectacular two hours of lightweight entertainment. It’s too long, a little muddled dramatically and very much a seen-it-before affair, but not bad. As an opening night film, however, The Wedding Party is a veritable lemon, lacking the verve and ingenuity desired by night one punters: the obligatory crowd of champagne-fed media and gung-ho film lovers, the kind mad or desperate enough to shell out $130 big ones for a ticket (and, of course, a bottomless glass at the after party). |

Being the lovely person that she is, Isabel attended the presentation of her friend and ex-boyfriend Adrian Grenier‘s documentary Teenage Paparazzo at the Melbourne Film Festival earlier today. She was wearing a quirky outfit of a black dress, blue jacket, boots and oversized sunglasses. The first photos have been added to our Gallery for your viewing pleasure! Stay tuned for more updates here later today • Melbourne Film Festival – Teenage Paparazzo Presentation x5 |

I’ve added another 17 gorgeous HQs from the The Wedding Party Melbourne Film Festival premiere! There are some great shots of Isabel with her co-stars, plus of her by herself. She just looks so naturally pretty! I thought this deserved a separate post rather than editing our original one, but make sure your check out our further coverage of this event by scrolling down. • Melbourne Film Festival – The Wedding Party Premiere x17 more |

A huge thanks to the lovely Ida for pointing me in the direction of the video of Isabel on Sunrise earlier today! A typically soft-spoken Isabel talks about the differences between The Wedding Party and Transformers and Red Dawn, plus Home & Away, the paparazzi, and Adrian Grenier! Watch away … |

Earlier today (remember the time differences, non-Aussie visitors!) was the Opening Night of the Melbourne International Film Festival where The Wedding Party received its world premiere! As expected, Isabel was in attendance at the event, and she looked super classy in a black dress and dark brown hair. Surprisingly, I’ve only been able to find 4 photos from the premiere so far, so they have been added to the Gallery. If you come across any more photos from the event then please send them my way for me to share with everyone on here! Isabel also appeared on the tv show Sunrise today (see post below this one) – I’ve been unable to find a video so far but I will keep looking, and again, if you find one please let me know! • Melbourne Film Festival – The Wedding Party Premiere x4 |

Opening night of the Melbourne International Film Festival brings out the glitterati but not the Twitterati, writes Suzanne Carbone. MAKE it a jumbo box of popcorn because the Melbourne International Film Festival screens 226 films and 99 shorts across 18 days. Sounds frenetic but not as frenetic as Rhonda Burchmore was last night. As a star of opening-night film The Wedding Party, red-hot Rhonda graced the red carpet outside the Regent Theatre in a sparkly mini at 6.40pm, climbed the stairs to a pre-film reception – but couldn’t stay for the film. Unfortunately, she had a pre-existing commitment. That was dashing to the Comedy Theatre at 7.30pm to dress for Calendar Girls at 8pm, the show where she sheds those clothes. It’s not over yet. When the curtain lowered at 10.30pm, Burchmore dashed back to the Regent ballroom for the film-festival after-party to sing a tune from the film, At Last, from the Juliet balcony. The mission was accomplished with the help of her trusty driver, husband Nikolai. Back to the red carpet, where Burchmore posed with co-stars Isabel Lucas, Josh Lawson, Adam Zwar, Nadine Garner, Essie Davis, Steve Bisley and director Amanda Jane. Hollywood star Adrian Grenier, here for his film Teenage Paparazzo, sensed he wasn’t dressing for the Oscars and wore a cardigan and scarf with his trousers and shirt. Sizing up the red carpet and the modest crowd gathered, he said: ”It’s a cute effort.” |
