AUSTRALIAN beauties have stolen the limelight on the final day of New York Fashion Week.

Actresses Isabel Lucas and Naomi Watts sat in the front row at the Calvin Klein show alongside Kate Bosworth and supermodel Helena Christensen, the stars later kicking up their heels at the show’s after-party held in the city’s meatpacking district.

The event closed the 2010 autumn shows, which also saw the folding of the Bryant Park tents where the key industry event has been held for the past 18 years.

From next season, the fashion pack will flock to the Lincoln Centre.

Transformers star and former Home and Away actress Isabel Lucas wore a white shift dress with rounded shoulders that was straight off the runway, pairing it with grey snakeskin ankle boots and unbrushed hair.

Watts chose a simple grey column dress, while fellow Australian actress Melissa George was snapped in edgy black, both women reflecting the minimalist ethos of the brand.

Designer Francisco Costa sent models down the catwalk in pin-tucked dresses, trench coats and towering metal platforms.

While most of the reviews had been positive, The New York Times criticised the collection for being less “approachable” than Costa’s previous offering.
