HOLLYWOOD’S in demand hottie and former soap star Isabel Lucas has been voted Australia’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity for 2010.
The month-long poll on PETAAsiaPacific.com put Lucas ahead of model and actress Imogen Bailey, TV and radio personality Ruby Rose, singer-songwriter Missy Higgins, model Myf Shepherd, Australian Idol host Andrew G, surfing sensation Dave Rastovich and folk singer Xavier Rudd.
Isabel, who went vegetarian after watching the documentary Earthlings at the home of Kiedis, the singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, says she doesn’t feel limited by her vegetarian diet.
“I eat lots of veggies and pasta and nuts, tofu and soups,” said Melbourne-born Lucas.
“It works well for my body, and I also feel more in tune.”
Lucas started her career with a role on the Australian soap opera Home and Away. She made her name in Hollywood as Alice in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Her mosr recent film is Daybreakers and Lucas plays the lead role in the upcoming Gale Edwards-directed movie A Heartbeat Away. She has also major roles in Kin, Red Dawn and, alongside Mickey Rourke and John Hurt, in Immortals.
“There’s no easier way to put passion in your life than to put passion in your diet”, says PETA Asia-Pacific director Jason Baker.
“Going vegetarian is the best thing that you can do for animals, the Earth and your health. Plus, there’s no easier way to stay slim and sexy and Isabel is living proof of that.”
