Natalie Portman to Star in Terrence Malick’s Next Two Films
Natalie Portman has committed to her first two movie roles since winning the Best Actress Oscar for Black Swan and taking maternity leave. Portman is joining the casts of the Terrence Malick films Knight Of The Cups, and Lawless. Portman will join Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Isabel Lucas in Knight of the Cups, which shoots this summer. She will follow by starring with Ryan Gosling, Bale, Blanchett, Rooney Mara and Haley Bennett in Lawless, the film Malick shoots in the fall. It will be Portman’s first time working with Malick, whose The Tree of Life won the Palme d’Or at Cannes and is nominated for Best Picture and Best Director Oscars.
The addition of Portman certainly will create some buzz for both Malick films when the wheeling and dealing begins at EFM in Berlin tomorrow. FilmNation is selling international territories and CAA reps both films for domestic rights. The market hasn’t even started and Deadline has broken stories that Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg lead the package for the Emmett/Furla Films and Universal co-financed 2 Guns; that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will make his directing debut on a comedy he’ll star in with Scarlett Johansson for IM Global; and that The Devil Inside followup WER will be sold by Sierra/Affinity, with FilmDistrict now an equity player in the film with Incentive Filmed Entertainment. All those films will have action in Berlin and it is looking like there will be a lot of good product. My colleague Nancy Tartaglione will be on the ground in Berlin and Deadline will be all over the market. Portman is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Isabel Lucas and Angus Stone ask you to show your love for the Coral Sea on Valentine’s Day
Protect our Coral Sea Ambassador actress Isabel Lucas and her musician boyfriend Angus Stone have created a fantastic short video in support of this historic marine campaign…titled ‘Coral Sea Love’ (see below YouTube link) and they are asking people to show their Love for the Coral Sea by sending an email to the Australian environment minister, Tony Burke, on Valentine’s Day asking him to protect the coral reefs in the Coral Sea.
Right now the Australian government is deciding the fate of Australia’s Coral Sea
Isabel’s message:
“I’d like to send a message to our federal environment minister…
THANK YOU, Environment Minister Tony Burke for protecting the eastern half of the Coral Sea in your draft plan for this iconic part of our blue Australia. THANK YOU for banning oil and gas exploration, mining and longline fishing in the Coral Sea Marine Park. And also THANK YOU for recently noting that the “Coral Sea was a near-pristine area with abundant marine life that deserves protection”
HOWEVER Mr Burke….in your current proposal for the Coral Sea, only 2 out of the 25 coral reefs are fully protected. All the other reefs are open to some kind of fishing or harvesting.
So fellow lovers of our oceans, on this Valentine’s Day I ask you to show your love for the beautiful Coral Sea and please join with me by asking Mr Burke to better protect the coral reefs in our Coal Sea!
Sending your Coral Sea rapid submission to Tony Burke via http://www.protectourcoralsea.org.au will take less time than brushing your teeth…”
Isabel Lucas, Protect our Coral Sea Ambassador.

On Valentine’s Day you will be able to check out Coral Sea Love at http://www.protectourcoralsea.org.au and share it with your friends on fb/twitter.
