We have new candids of Izzy! She was photographed at LAX Airport in Los Angeles yesterday, and she looked pretty in a little dress and trademark headband. She even stopped to sign autographs for a few fans, and had a nice big smile for the photographers! I’ve added 17 photos to the Gallery for you. I’ve also been doing some small content updates – I’ve added a couple of new/old interviews to the Press page as well as some more Quotes (by Isabel, at the bottom of that section). I’ve started work on the Charities page by adding info on Isabel’s involvement with Oz Quest and Earth Hour, although I’m sure more will be added to those parts, and of course the rest of that section will be written up shortly. I’ve also discovered Isabel did some adverts for Aussie accessories brand Diva back in 2005, so I’ve updated the Filmography page with that, and added some info to our Adverts page. As posted about a month or so ago, Isabel was one of the preliminary nominees at the MTV Movie Awards, for her role in last years Transformers. The official nominees have been announced today, and Isabel is in the ‘final’ running for Best WTF Moment! Congratulations to Isabel, this is exciting news! You can vote for her HERE. Unfortunately she did not make the final nominees for Best Female Breakout Star, nor was Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen nominated for Best Movie. Voting is open until Saturday June 5th, and the show airs live on Sunday June 6th on MTV! Let’s cross our fingers for Isabel to win here award and attend the event… |

Thanks to Amanda for an alert about the MTV Movie Awards – Isabel is nominated in two categories!
Sadly nothing for Best Villain or Best Ass-Kicking Star though Confusingly, this is only a nomination for a nomination, in that you have to vote now and those with the most votes will go on to be the final five main nominees in each category. Make sense?! Either way, vote vote vote!! |

Thanks to ‘M’ for this alert! Isabel is nominated for the ‘Aussie Superstar Of The Year’ award at the 2010 Dolly Teen Choice Awards in Australia! She is nominated alongside other rising Aussie stars such as Guy Sebastian, Miranda Kerr and Liam Hemsworth. You can vote for Miss Lucas RIGHT HERE – her category is on the 3rd and final page. I think this is only magazine-based awards, as in there will be no event/red carpet show. The Dolly site does say that there will be related features in their magazine though, so if you live in Australia make sure you keep an eye on that magazine! I’m not sure when winners will be announced, but I’ll be keeping a look out for further details, and will let you know! Exciting news – Isabel has won the award for Breakout Female Performance at the 2009 Spike TV’s Scream Awards! This was of course for her role as Alice in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. Izzy beat out Anna Torv (“Fringe”), Zoe Saldana (“Star Trek”), Lorna Raver (“Drag Me To Hell”), Lena Leandersson (“Let The Right One In”) and Malin Akerman (“Watchmen”) for her deserving win. Hi fans! Today I’ve added a full set of screencaptures from the Tourism Victoria advert video. Hopefully a better quality version that doesn’t have that massive title tag on it will be available sometime. Despite that, Isabel looks gorgeous in the ad, as does Daylesford (the region she’s promoting)! I’ve also added a few ‘stills’ from the advert – these have watermarks on them unfortunately, but they’re still very pretty. This campaign will be taking all forms – as well as the TV advert there will also be print ads in magazines and online promotional banners etc. I’ll be keeping an eye out for these so stay tuned for further coverage here, as it pops up! HOLLYWOOD-based Australian beauty Isabel Lucas is to star in a multi-million dollar tourism campaign showcasing Victoria as the nation’s premium indulgence and wellbeing destination. The $7.3 million Daylesford – Lead a Double Life – campaign will kick off tomorrow night on television screens around Australia. In the TV advertisement, Lucas explores the dual attractions of the region by frolicking at a decadent soiree by night and recovering the next day with a stroll through the countryside and a dip in the natural mineral springs. Tourism Minister Tim Holding said the state’s industry had held up better than anywhere else in the nation through the global financial crisis. Last year, for the first time in decades, interstate tourists spent more money in Melbourne than Sydney, he said. “Melbourne has outstripped Sydney as the preferred destination for Australians,” Mr Holding said today. “But we can’t be complacent in what are the most extraordinarily difficult circumstances that our industry has seen.” |

ISABEL Lucas has taken a leaf out of Lara Bingle’s books and starred in an Australian tourism campaign. Yet while Lucas is a rising star in Hollywood, recently stealing the limelight from her Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen co-star Megan Fox, she’s become the face not of the whole country but of the Victorian resort town of Daylesford. The campaign, which hits TV screens tomorrow, comes with a $7million price tag but there is no word yet on how much of that was needed to secure the LA-based star. While here she spent time getting cosy with Joel Edgerton. |

DAYLESFORD – lead a double life. Featuring Hollywood-based Australian actress Isabel Lucas, the ad was screened for the first time last night at The Convent Gallery to an impressed audience. More than $7 million was spent on the campaign, which is hoped will attract more interstate visitors to Victoria by highlighting the dualities in Daylesford _ decadence and purity, indulgence and rejuvenation and temptation and redemption. Tourism and Major Events Minister Tim Holding said the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges region was the perfect vehicle to spearhead Victoria’s tourism campaign over the next three years. |
