Support Sea Shepherd
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Sea Shepherd could not think of a more brave, passionate and dedicated activist and friend of the whales, than Isabel Lucas, also known for her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Isabel has stepped up for duty for the oceans numerous times, including raising international awareness by attempting to stop annual slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan in 2007.
"I do feel I am in a unique position where I can use my public status to draw attention to things that matter to me and hopefully a lot of other people as well. I don't want to push my ideas on other people. Everyone should think for themselves.

Over the weekend I reported that it sounded like Isabel would be on the cover of Tatler magazine, and a big thanks goes to Tatler magazine for confirming to Isabel Lucas Online that Isabel IS indeed on the cover of their new issue!! They said that the magazine will be available in the next few days.

@isabellucasILO It’s all true! The issue comes on sale in a few days – look out for it! xx
So far I haven’t come across a photo of the cover yet, but keep checking their site as hopefully they’ll update it with info on the new issue in the coming days.
I will obviously be picking up a copy of this magazine as soon as I spot it, and I will attempt to make scans for us if possible.
As ASOS’s Marina told us, the behind the scenes video of Isabel’s shoot for ASOS magazine is online for us today! The digital version of the magazine is also available. Unfortunately I don’t seem to be able to embed the video, but you can view it at their site by clicking the link below.
I’ll be adding screencaps from the video to our Gallery later today.
We’re really being treated with Isabel magazines this week, and our lovely visitor lili has just let me know that Isabel is on the cover of the October issue of French women’s magazine Jalouse! It’s another brand new photoshoot, and Isabel is wearing an interesting hat on the cover, and looks very chic. I love seeing her being featured in more magazines worldwide, especially on the cover!
Hopefully we’ll be able to get more coverage of this new magazine soon – if you’re able to help us out with scans of this magazine then please get in touch! I’d love to be able to add scans from this magazine to share with Isabel fans around the world.
My post the other day about Isabel being on the cover of ASOS magazine was right – thanks to Marina from ASOS for confirming it! Isabel does indeed cover the November 2011 issue of the shopping magazine, and she looks absolutely fantastic in the photoshoot!! The photoshoot is unlike any other Isabel has done before, and I love the colours and feel of it. Marina from ASOS also confirmed that a behind the scenes video and digital edition will be released on Monday, so I’ll be sure to post that for you then.
Thanks to my friend Maria, I’ve been able to add a few photos from the magazine to the Gallery. They’re not the best quality, but you can just about read the text. I will still be on the lookout for better quality scans/photos.
From a few things I’ve just read, it sounds like Isabel is featured in a new issue of ASOS magazine, with a new photoshoot! I’ve done some searching to try to find out more, but no luck so far. Has anyone heard any more about this? If you have any more details please let us know, as I’m very curious to see if this is true! And if it is indeed true and you can provide us with scans we will love you forever!
Ever the popular new fashionista, Isabel is featured in the new issue of US Vogue (May issue, Reese Witherspoon cover)! It’s a small inclusion in a photo spread focussing on model Natalia Vodianova – Isabel is featured in one photo alongside Natalia, New Zealand actor Martin Henderson, and British actor Max Irons. A demure Isabel is seen wearing a Nina Ricci silk-crepe cardigan, cashmere-and-silk top, and wool tweed skirt with a Hermès bag. View the photo in our Gallery! If you’d like to view the rest of the feature then you can do so at Vogue.com.
If anyone can help Isabel Lucas Online with scans then please get in touch – we’d love to be able to share them with other fans here
Natalia Vodianova: Chateau California
Model and actress Natalia Vodianova unpacks a cinematic urban summer wardrobe at the iconic Chateau Marmont and finds young Hollywood talents behind every door.
Today’s issue of Australia’s Daily Telegraph paper has a new interview – and photoshoot – with Miss Lucas! The interview is a good read, and their focus on the “contrasts” and “contradictions”, as they say, of Isabel is very interesting.
The interview has been added to our Press page, and the photos to our Gallery.
Hippie or Hollywood Diva?
SHE’S the Hollywood starlet with a boho heart, but it’s not all peace and love with Isabel Lucas. Meg Mason delves deeper and discovers the steely determination of a girl who knows what she wants.
Isabel Lucas is a lesson in contradictions. In person and onscreen, the Australian actor comes across as the consummate starlet – luminously pretty, composed, with just the right amount of quirkiness.
But buried within that, there’s something else; a natural reserve and stand-offishness that adds up to an edge as sharp as those famous cheekbones.
The 26-year-old admits she’s so shy, her hands start shaking when she spots a paparazzi flash. “I have to go over and introduce myself,” she muses. “That’s the only thing I can do – create a human connection – so it doesn’t feel as though they’re stalking me.”
Marching up to hardened paps with an outstretched hand is a bold move for a Hollywood newcomer, and it says something else entirely about the tough interior she hides so well. During our photoshoot, she floats around the studio like a woodland sprite, but get her started on any of her passions and she adopts a direct tone, speaking at length about Japanese whaling, clean water or other causes close to her heart.
Any remaining notion of a carefree flower-child vanishes in the hair stylist’s chair, when Lucas decides the results aren’t to her liking. She politely but insistently takes over, while the crew waits. Even the outfit she arrives in is a study in contrasts: a well-loved Chanel bag and a pair of eco-friendly Toms loafers, perfectly in keeping with the power-hippie look that’s made her a staple for style bloggers and fashion magazines.
Wow, this is a nice surprise! Isabel is one of a new batch of celebrities featured in Gap’s new holiday 2010 advertising campaign! She is featured alongside fellow Aussie and former Home & Away star Ryan Kwanten, plus model Lauren Bush, actor Donald Glover and a number of other actors, musicians, artists and entrepreneurs.
The stars talk about their personal causes on Gap’s Facebook page, and Gap will be donating $1 to a charity each time a person ‘likes’ one of the videos.
JustJared.com have the first full photo from the campaign, in which Isabel models the sequin zip jacket. I presume these adverts will now be running in the US (and possible worldwide!) media.
I’m currently looking for more info and photos, so stay tuned as I will edit this post with anything else I find!
As posted on our Twitter a couple of weeks ago, Isabel is featured in the November issue of US Vogue! It’s only a short feature, entitled ‘Steal of the Month’, but it comes with a brief new article and a gorgeous new photo! I’ve added the photo to the Gallery, and the article to our Press page.
If anyone can contribute scans of Isabel’s feature in this magazine then please contact me – we’d be very grateful!
Steal of the Month: Plastic Fantastic
One’s trash is another’s treasure: Marni turns bottles into baubles.
“Young, old, rich, poor, this necklace is for everyone!” exclaims Marni’s Consuelo Castiglioni, the latest of a burgeoning group of esteemed designers turning out chic with a conscience (see “Naturally Refined,” page 260). The designer, “always looking for new materials,” has strung together a necklace of flowers that were once plastic drinking bottles, recycled in Colombia. And ringing in at $320 (significantly less than the usual price for a Marni necklace), her choice benefits not only the environment but fledgling Marni fans, too. Count among them ingenue Isabel Lucas, who is also doing her part for the planet. The 25-year-old actress, vintage shopper, and vegetarian doesn’t wear leather (unless it’s thrift), hiked up Kilimanjaro to raise funds for charities that provide safe drinking water to those in need, and designed a recycled-timber, solar-paneled house in her native Australia before moving to L.A. two and a half years ago. “I lived in Cairns, near the Great Barrier Reef,” she says, “so my natural instinct is to protect the environment.”
A big thanks to my friend Mikaela for the heads up on this! Elle magazine turns 25 this year, and they are celebrating that birthday in their new October issues. In their US edition, Elle have a 28-page editorial entitled “The Quarterbacks”, which features 25 20-something’s who Elle loves — including our Isabel! She is featured alongside others such as Anna Kendrick, Lea Michele, Megan Fox, Dianna Agron, and Amanda Seyfried. It’s fantastic that Elle chose to include Isabel!
Below is a video with footage from the photoshoot and interviews with the women involved. I’ll be looking for and adding scans as soon as I can, and if anyone can contribute scans from this magazine then please let me know!
Also just a reminder, as I said in the post bwlow updates may be slow for a few more days due to computer problems, but stay tuned for lots of new stuff right here very soon!
