Isabel in Ed Sheeran’s music video for ‘Give Me Love’

Nov 9 • by Jess • No CommentsGallery Update, Other Projects, Videos

It was true! The reports about Isabel being in an upcoming Ed Sheeran music video have now materialised, as he has released the music video for his new single ‘Give Me Love’, and Isabel plays the ‘main character’ in it! Props to Vera for the heads-up on this. It is a dramatic and tragic story directed by Emil Nava, in which Isabel plays an angel cupid … it kind of has a Black Swan feel to it, I think. It’s an interesting video, and I’d love to hear your take on it. It was debuted just 2 hours ago, and is already taking Twitter and Tumblr by storm.

‘Give Me Love’ will be Ed Sheeran’s next UK single, and you can download the song on iTunes.

This is what Ed tweeted about his music video star:

Isabel to be in Ed Sheeran music video?

Oct 19 • by Jess • No CommentsCareer, Other Projects

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a couple of tweets about Isabel being in the music video for Ed Sheeran’s new single:

I haven’t read or heard anything since, but be sure to be on the look-out for this! I’ll post anything else I may hear….

‘Clover Love’ video by Isabel Lucas & friends

Sep 22 • by Jess • No CommentsOther, Other Projects, Videos

Check out this beautiful new video that I just found on YouTube, made by Isabel and her friends. It looks like a little personal video that she put together with friends, and I was really interested to see the end credits that say she wrote the words in the video. I’m sure I can recognise some of the footage from previous videos she made with Angus Stone. The video was made with Alice Foulcher and Jaimie Leigh Gianopoulos and features the song ‘Dead Hearts’ by Ryan Gosling’s band Dead Mans Bones.

This looks like a personal project between friends, so I won’t add it to our Filmography/Career page. I will add screencaptures from it soon, though. Watch and enjoy the video below – what are your thoughts on it?

‘Bird On The Buffalo’ video stylist talks to Elle

Apr 24 • by Jess • No CommentsOther Projects, Style

Isabel’s stunning look in Angus Stone’s new music video seems to be taking the fashion world by storm, and now Elle.com have an interview with the video’s stylist, Imogene Barron. It gives us a great insight into the making of the video and Isabel’s fashion sense.

Isabel Lucas, Chanel & Wolves for Angus Stone

Beauty abounds in the new music video for Angus Stone’s “Bird on the Buffalo.” Besides the music—charming, chugging neo-folk from the Australian singer-songwriter—both the background (the video was shot on location at Joshua Tree National Park) and the babe (actress Isabel Lucas, Stone’s real life girlfriend) are true stunners. But what really caught our attention was the clothing, which includes everything from fringed leather jackets and vintage embroidered dresses to lacy Chanel cruise gowns. “It makes your job a lot easier when you’ve got great designers involved,” admits the video’s stylist, Imogene Barron, who added, “It’s really nice that designers have started to support music videos, because they do reach such a larger audience. It’s nice to have another avenue than just editorial and to see the way [the clothing] moves and the way it fits. So I’m really happy that designers are now getting on board with the music side of things.”

ELLE: This music video takes place in the desert and features everything from wide shots of untouched sand dunes to flying owls. How did that translate into something with a high fashion bend?
Imogene Barron: One of my best friends, [designer] Jessie Hill, is the director, and I know Angus and Isabel as well, so it was a family vibe—which is nice to work from. The director and I had a bit of a conversation about it and I looked at mood boards and the treatment and obviously, being Isabel, thought, Let’s push it in the fashion department, because she carries clothing so well and is absolutely stunning. So it kind of went from there, taking inspiration from what the concept is and moving forward. I was definitely given free reign. The only brief I was given, in terms of direction of styling, is that the video takes you on a journey.

ELLE: Let’s talk about the outfits that take Lucas’ character on her journey.
IB: She’s actually wearing a little Lover camisole and shorts in the bed scene, which you can’t really see as much. And then she’s a “real girl” and she’s outside in a little vintage dress and Isabel Marant boots—it’s an achievable look. And then she morphs into this beautiful goddess and we really took it up with the Chanel, which looks amazing on her. The headpiece that she’s wearing with it is custom-made by a French label, MellaSan, and we also had the little necklace with an owl custom made by Tiger Frame.

ELLE: Was the Chanel dress a no-brainer?
IB: I definitely think having Chanel in there was perfect, because the collection reflected what we were trying to achieve. As soon as I saw that collection I thought, We have to get Isabel into that. All the colors of that collection just work so well in the desert setting. So I went to the Chanel cruise collection and there were probably two or three pieces that could have worked, but the combination of the fabrics and the dress work really, really well.

ELLE: Where did you find that white, lace-collar vintage dress?
IB: That’s actually one of Isabel’s dresses! She has an amazing collection of vintage dresses. I wanted to evolve her a bit from being her regular self, but I definitely [also] wanted to reflect her personal style. If I’m working with people I like I often use a bit of their personal belongings, especially when you’re working closely with someone and it’s nice to have an element of them in there. I really wanted that look to be: she’s a regular girl, she’s walking down the street. I didn’t want to put her in anything too evening; I wanted her to feel a bit more raw and organic. Originally we were looking at a couple of other designer options, but everything felt a little too…I wanted the Chanel to really stand out.

ELLE: Did Isabel keep anything from the shoot?
IB: I don’t think so, no. I think that designer might have been making her another headpiece. I’m sure she would have loved to keep the Chanel dress, but unfortunately she had to return that. As would we all, especially if you looked like that!

Angus Stone’s girlfriend Isabel Lucas the inspiration behind his new album Broken Brights

Apr 23 • by Jess • No CommentsOther Projects, Personal

Angus Stone is officially the pilot of his own big jet plane. Despite finding fame as one half of sibling duo Angus & Julia Stone, the Byron Bay-based singer-songwriter has gone solo.

Speaking to Insider, Angus Stone explains his new album, Broken Brights (to be released in June), has been a long time in the making and he drew special inspiration from his girlfriend, actress Isabel Lucas.

“I’ve always been collecting songs and have written along the way for something like this,” Stone, 25, says of stepping out from his older sister Julia.

“We’ve both gone down different roads now and we’re exploring this side of music.”

For Stone, originally from Newport on Sydney’s northern beaches, Broken Brights is an album inspired by Lucas – a relationship that blossomed after they travelled through Redwood National Park in the US.

“She has really shined a light on a whole new part of me,” Stone says. “That (trip) presents the whole inspiration for the album. Swimming in the rivers, being amongst all that amazing power from the trees, falling in love and having it all just unfold.

“We spent our time getting to know each other for the first time at that place.”

Isabel in Angus Stone’s new ‘Bird on the Buffalo’ music video

Apr 14 • by Jess • No CommentsGallery Update, Other Projects, Videos

Looks like Isabel is keeping herself busy with starring in Angus Stone’s music videos, as she appears in his new one for ‘Bird on the Buffalo’! PasteMagazine posted the first look at this video for Angus’s new single yesterday. The beautiful video was shot in the desert, and features a very blonde Isabel getting in touch with husky dogs and the rain – she looks just stunning, especially in the shots with the dogs. The song is really good too, not to mention catchy, and you can purchase the single on iTunes. Angus’s full solo album debuts in July.

I’m pretty sure that this photo that was posted on Twitter late last year was taken during the shoot for this video – Isabel’s outfit is the same and obviously the background fits, so I am guessing that the video was shot several months ago.

Watch Angus and Isabel’s new creation below, find the behind the scenes video of the shoot further down this post, and then check out some gloriously HD screencaptures from the video in our Gallery!

‘Broken Brights’ music video screencaptures & information

I’ve now added screencaptures from Angus Stone’s new music video for Broken Brights, which our Izzy is featured in. Check out our original post on this project here, and as well as screencaps in the Gallery, I’ve added information on the video to our Filmography Music Video page here. The quality of the screencaptures is not perfect, but that is because the video was shot on a handheld camera, therefore the image, as you can see in the video, was quite shaky. Which just adds to the beauty of it, in my opinion!

Isabel is featured in the gorgeous new video for Angus Stone’s new solo single Broken Brights. Read a bit more about it below, and then watch the clip itself…

We’ll have screencaptures from the video up here over the weekend!

Angus Stone inhabits a Hipstamatic world in the self-directed video for his new solo tune ‘Broken Brights’. It’s a totally lo-fi affair, filmed in California’s Redwood Forest with his partner, actress Isabel Lucas – and we’ve got your exclusive first look at the clip!

“We planned the trip when we first met and it was here we traveled together for the first time,” explains Angus. “I thought I would bring along an old camera and capture some love along the way. With this old camera we didn’t know whether it worked or not as it was film. We knew it clicked over but that was all we knew… so it was a great feeling to get the rolls back some months after and see the footage had marked our time in the woods as a love.”

‘Broken Brights’ is the first song lifted from Angus’ forthcoming solo record which will be out in July. In the meantime, get cosy with this brand new film clip.

Extended version of the “Made For You” by The Gift music video

Apr 2 • by Jess • No CommentsLucasLukas, Videos

An ‘extended version’ of the “Made For You” music video has recently been posted on YouTube. I haven’t watched it properly yet so can’t tell you how ‘extended’ it is or if there’s anything different in yet, but it seems pretty much the same to me. Either way, here it is:

Lucas/Lukas ‘Made For You’ video not really Isabel

Mar 12 • by Jess • No CommentsLucasLukas, Other Projects

We have been tricked! You will no doubt remember that a few weeks ago I posted about Isabel turning to music and making a song with Lukas Haas entitled Made For You. Well it turns out it is NOT Isabel and Lukas singing; instead it is a song by the Portugese band The Gift, and Isabel and Lukas are actually playing the leads in the music video!

The official Lucas/Lukas Facebook page and official site have been updated to reflect the revelation, and you can read the new statement below, as well as watch the real making of video. In the video the real musicians can be heard saying ‘And how about getting a couple of famous actors … actors that would pretend the new The Gift song was theirs. What if after two weeks it became known that the song, and the actors, were not taking part in their own musical project, but instead were the leads on The Gift’s new music video’.

Lucas/Lukas is Lukas Haas + Isabel Lucas in their first musical collaboration performing the lead roles in Official New Video by Portuguese Band: The Gift : Made for You; from the new album EXPLODE. Music and lyrics by The Gift, produced by Ken Nelson.

Filmed and recorded in Lukas’ studio in LA. Directed by Carleton Ranney. Shot and Edited by Real Sprague and Destin Douglas.

You can find out more about The Gift by visiting their official site here.

What a sneaky and funny move! Thanks to Jennifer for the heads-up on this.

Screencaps from the Lucas/Lukas ‘Made For You‘ music video and making of video have now been added to the Gallery. The videos are pretty much the same thing actually, except the ‘making of’ has a few shots of them talking before we see them go in the studio and record the song.

The song is already stuck in my head!

Isabel turns to singing! LucasLukas music project

Mar 2 • by Jess • 2 CommentsCareer, LucasLukas, Other Projects, Videos

My jaw has just dropped on the floor at this! It looks like Isabel has turned her talents to singing! Information and videos have popped up online in the last couple of days about Isabel joining forces with actor Lukas Haas to make a song and music video entitled ‘Made For You’. The official Facebook and YouTube pages describe the project as:

Lucas/Lukas is Lukas Haas + Isabel Lucas in their first musical collaboration, Made for You. Filmed and recorded in Lukas’ studio in LA. Directed by Carleton Ranney. Shot and Edited by Real Sprague and Destin Douglas.

Whether or not they’re officially calling themselves a proper band is unknown yet. Their Facebook page doesn’t list a record company yet.

Below is the all-important song/music video itself, as well as the official ‘Making Of’ video in which Isabel and Lukas talk about the project, and the lyrics to the song. I’ve also posted all the information I’ve found on this project so far.

Make sure you visit the official website and apply for the free download!
