Isabel has stepped up for duty for the oceans numerous times, including raising international awareness by attempting to stop annual slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan in 2007.

What a nice surprise! Isabel attended the fashion event of the year – the Costume Institute Gala (aka the MET Ball) – last night in New York City. She looking striking in a pink Louis Vuitton halter dress and a stunning gold headpiece. Her blonde hair was kept back in a low pony tail. Isabel looks gorgeous here – I love seeing her getting more dressed up for the red carpet, while still keeping her originality, and hippie, bohemian style. This dress is a definite winner in my opinion! It’s also great to see her invited to such an important event.

I’ve added the first 11 photos to the Gallery, including 6 HQs, and more will follow later today/as I come across them.

What do you think of Izzy’s look? Don’t be shy – leave a comment! We love to hear your thoughts :-)

EDIT: I’ve now added another 7 HQs, plus replaced the previous smaller photos we had with HQ versions … giving us a total of 18 gorgeous HQ photos! We also have a couple of candid snaps of Izzy leaving her hotel to go to the event.

And a big thank you goes to our visitor Livi for letting us know that Isabel’s date for the night was Geoffroy van Raemdonk, the acting president of Louis Vuitton – quite an honour for Isabel, very impressive!

EDIT #2 (On Thursday 5th): I’ve updated the post further down with various articles about Isabel’s dress and appearance, including a few inclusions of the Best Dressed lists!

On Thursday Isabel attended IWC Schaffhausen & Peter Lindberg’s ‘A Night In Portofino’ event in Culver City, California. She looked pretty and natural in a little white dress and very blonde hair! Photos have been added to the Gallery for you, and you can scroll on further down this post for some information on the event.

Updates can now resume! As I mentioned in the week, I was having computer problems and couldn’t update properly here. Everything seems to be fixed, so updates will return.

As we all know, Izzy attended WonderCon last weekend, to promote Immortals. I added photos from the Day 1 appearance last weekend, but wasn’t able to add anything from the actual Immortals panel – until now! I’ve added over 40 photos from the panel on Sunday, as well as more from Day 1. Isabel looks great at both appearances, and there are some particularly beautiful shots from Day 2.

You can also browse through videos, reports and interviews from WonderCon in the posts below.

I have a real treat for you coming up soon … actually, make that a LOT of treats ;)

Director Tarsem Singh and Isabel Lucas Talk IMMORTALS and THE BROTHERS GRIMM: SNOW WHITE at WonderCon

At WonderCon this weekend, Relativity Media premiered an awesome looking teaser trailer for director Tarsem Singh’s (The Fall) Immortals. In the film, Henry Cavill plays Theseus, a mortal chosen by Zeus (Luke Evans) to bring down the power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). The film also stars Isabel Lucas, Frida Pinto, Kellan Lutz, Stephen Dorff, and John Hurt. You can read more about the WonderCon presentation here and you can also watch our video interviews with Cavill & Evans and producer Mark Canton.

While I was happy to be able to interview Cavill as he’ll be playing Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, I was just as excited to meet and talk with Tarsem Singh. All too often people use the term visionary. It’s like just because someone got a cool shot in their last film they’re a visionary director. But if you saw either The Cell or The Fall, you know that Tarsem is the real deal. And after getting to see the teaser for Immortals, the world is about to discover this amazing talent.

During the extended interview, Tarsem and Lucas talked about WonderCon, filming in Montreal, Lucas describes her approach to playing Athena, how will Immortals raise the bar for moviegoers who think they’ve seen it all in terms of action, the 3D, how the film draws the line between style and narrative, and I got an update on his next project The Brothers Grimm: Snow White. Hit the jump to watch.

Tarsem Singh and Isabel Lucas

* 1:20 – Talks about premiering footage at WonderCon and actors seeing it for the first time.
* 2:50 – Discusses how the film draws the line between style and narrative
* 3:50 – What initially led to filming in Montreal and what was that experience like
* 5:20 – Lucas describes her approach to playing Athena in the film
* 6:35 – How will this film raise the bar for moviegoers who think they’ve seen it all in terms of action
* 7:30 – Describes how 3D is used in the film
* 8:40 – What drew him to take on his next film, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White

WonderCon 2011: “Immortals” Roundtable With Director Tarsem Singh, Producer Mark Canton, & Stars Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, and Isabel Lucas

My last roundtable interview on Saturday was for Immortals, a retelling of the greek mythological tale of Theseus from the producers of 300. Director Tarsem Singh, producer Mark Canton, and lead cast members Henry Cavill, Luke Evans, and Isabel Lucas were in attendance. Check it out after the break.

Henry Cavill and Luke Evans 00:00 – 09:38
Cavill plays the main character, greek warrior Theseus who leads a war against the Titans to protect mankind and the Gods. Evans plays Zeus, who hand picks Theseus from peasantry. We of course had to get the elephant in the room out of the way by talking to Cavill about his recent casting as Superman in Zack Snyder’s upcoming film, as well as Evans being in the running for the Bourne Legacy prequel. They also talk about working with Singh, who is a visual director.

Mark Canton 09:39 – 18:08
Canton, one of the film’s producers, talks about 3D (which the film will be converted into), as well as inevitable comparisons to 300. Canton talks about choosing Cavill, a relative unknown, for the lead part and how they look like prophets for casting the next Superman. Xerxes, the upcoming prequel to 300, came up as well, as Canton was a producer for that. We even talk about Piranha 3DD.

Tarsem Singh and Isabel Lucas 18:09 – 25:56
Lucas, who plays Athena, was pretty quiet and reserved for the interview, but Singh, wearing a brightly patterned blazer, had no trouble taking the reigns. The visionary director of The Cell and upcoming The Brothers Grimm: Snow White discusses what drew him to this project, including how staying true to the myth wasn’t important to him. Singh had complete control of the project and talks about casting Cavill.

There’s much more in the full audio of the interviews, so listen below!

Firstly let me apologise the not updating since Sunday – I’ve been having problems with my computer, and am therefore able to update much. I think/hope everything is almost sorted, so once I’m 100% sure, updates will continue and I will add more coverage from WonderCon.

For now though, here are some more reports on the Immortals panel that was held at WonderCon last weekend. It looks like the panel was a huge hit and that the film is even more anticipated now than before!

Tarsem Singh’s ‘Immortals’ Trailer Revealed at WonderCon

Tarsem Singh‘s Immortals had its coming out party at WonderCon in San Francisco this weekend. On Friday they revealed the first character posters for the film, and at the panel on Saturday they screened the first teaser trailer for the film. Find out the details after the jump.

While they called it a teaser trailer, it may as well have been a full length trailer as it showed everything.

The trailer shows us beautiful women, including Freida Pinto as Phaedra. Shots of a huge showdown on a battlefield with thousands of soldiers, mythological weapons like fire whips and a bow and arrow which shoots laser-like arrows in machine gun-like rapid fire. A gigantic mountain collapses, a huge total wave coming towards land. There is a shot of the men fighting from an angle which appears to either be below the ground or if the men are suspended in air above the camera with the clouds upwars in the background. It’s beautiful, but I’m not sure whats going on. There is a lot of slow motion and tons of shots with computer generated backgrounds.

Singh said he approached the film as a mix between a Caravaggio painting and Fight Club, but it seems he achieved 300 but with mythical Gods. Or at least that seems like the consensus. If that sounds like a film you want to see, you’re probably going to dig the trailer. If that sounds like a horrible idea, you might want to avoid the trailer whenever it hits (which I’m guessing will happen sometime next week).

The movie is being promoted as “from the producers of 300″ and I’m sure some audiences might even think this is somehow related the the Zack Snyder film — the cinematography is very surreal, stylized and epic looking, but also fake and unaturalistic.

Here are some quick observations from the Q&A:

April 3, 2011   •  Category: Immortals, Public Appearance0 Comments

As posted about last night, the Immortals cast took to WonderCon yesterday to discuss their new film. During that panel the first teaser trailer for the film was shown, and below are a few reports from various sites about the trailer and the panel. Sadly we don’t get to hear much about what Isabel said, but hopefully a video will pop up sometime.

The Immortals trailer will probably be posted online soon, so keep checking back for that. I’ll also be posting photos here asap…

WonderCon: The Immortals Panel

WonderCon launched its Immortals panel with quite a few members of the ensemble cast taking the San Francisco stage; Luke Evans (Zeus), Isabel Lucas (Athena) and, eliciting the most noise from the crowd, soon-to-be-Superman Henry Cavill (Theseus) joined director Tarsem Singh and Producer Mark Canton.

The panel opened with a teaser trailer, featuring narration by the film’s antagonist, Mickey Rourke (King Hyperion), speaking poetically about a mounting battle. What was primarily striking was the imagery, very much a hyper-stylized merging of Tarsem’s The Fall with something like Zack Snyder’s 300 (not surprisingly from the same producers).

Words don’t quite do the teaser justice (the just released posters give a rough idea of the design, but they lack the overall colorfulness of the what was screened), but there were a number of decidedly striking shots, including an elaborate Sistine Chapel-style image of period warriors engaged in war, seeming floating across the frame. Another had Zeus’ weapon of choice, a flaming whip, moving through the air in slow-motion.
