The first trailer for Knight Of Cups was released a few weeks ago and you can watch it below. It is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next month.
Here is another – the time for the US – trailer for The Loft. It is currently set to hit US screens on January 23rd.
Isabel’s new film The Water Diviner premiered in Sydney earlier this week although unfortunately Isabel was not in attendance. It will receive a premiere in Melbourne and then Istanbul next week, and will be released in Australian cinemas on Boxing Day.
The Water Diviner has been nominated for several Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards.
Below is a video featurette on the movie, giving us a first look at Russell Crowe’s directorial debut:
1983 Los Angeles is full of beautiful girls, luxurious mansions, and glamorous parties. Eddie Dodson (Jim Sturgess), a hip and charismatic dealer of antique furniture for the rich and famous, is living the high life. When Eddie meets the cool and aloof Pauline (Isabelle Lucas), the attraction is instant and the two live out each other’s fast-paced fantasies until Eddie’s high-rolling life catches up with him and loan sharks start knocking on his door. To pay off his debts, Eddie and Pauline begin a spree of bank robberies across LA, charming tellers at over 60 banks to hand over the cash. Now the two are not only on the run from loan sharks but also have the police hot on their trail.
After having its cinema release pushed back again, Loft is now scheduled to be released (in the US?) on January 23rd 2015. Below is an another international trailer for the movie, with the description suggesting it will be released in Belgium tomorrow – October 15th…
In Russell Crowe’s directorial debut, an Australian man travels to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli to try and locate his three missing sons.
Isabel looked so chic and stunning in the pages of the December issue of Australian Vogue! She posed in Chanel for a cricket-themed photoshoot for the magazine – there was no interview, unfortunately, as it was just a fashion spread. The photos are just gorgeous, and this is one of my new favourites of Isabel. Plus, we now know what she was doing in these photos
Check out the scans/photoshoot in the Gallery:
As reported previously, Isabel is the new face of Australian jewellry brand Linneys 2014 ‘Cote D’Azur’ campaign. The campaign was launched in late November, and we now have lots of photos from it! Added to the Gallery are the photoshoot pictures, a behind the scenes shot, screencaps of Isabel from the official Linneys website, and captures from the campaign catalogue. Isabel looks so glamourous and confident!
Australian actress Isabel Lucas has been selected as ambassador for the new range, which will officially launch on Wednesday 27 November at an invitation-only event in Sydney.
Linney said Lucas had a natural beauty and elegance that perfectly suited the Cote d’Azur collection.
“Isabel is a well known Australian talent, especially with a younger demographic, so as well as being a beautiful model for the new collection she will also hopefully bring new clients to the Linneys brand as it continues to grow,” he explained.
In addition to the main collection, Lucas and the jewellery retailer have collaborated to create a piece that will be auctioned to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund. The pendant features 18-carat rose gold, an Australian South Sea pearl and diamonds valued at more than $3,000.
This is not the first time Linneys has worked with a celebrity in order to promote its collections. The 2013 Gardens of Eden range was fronted by Belgian Victoria’s Secret model Jessica Van Der Steen and it has also used Australian personalities such as Jessica Marais, Melissa George, Jason Dundas and Ernie Dingo in its marketing.
Commenting on the importance of brand ambassadors, Linney said, “Ambassadors have provided our brand with an incredible platform from which we can launch our new collections and present them to the market on a more personal level.”
The first teaser trailer for Isabel’s upcoming movie Careful What You Wish For was released earlier this month, and you can watch it below. What do you think of it? Are you excited for this movie?!
I will catch up on missed recent news & photos asap, please bear with me
Here’s a video of Isabel talking to Film Festival Flix at their LA premiere of The Wedding Party earlier this year:
Isabel makes an appearance in Los Angeles musician SoKo’s new short film entitled ‘Monster Love’. It’s a really different and unique film, and Izzy appears briefly at about 3:10 minutes in. It also features Isabel’s good friend Hannah ‘Mermaid’ Fraser. The song playing in the film is also called Monster Love, and is by Ariel Pink. Find out more about SoKo (who I presume is a friend of Isabel’s?) at her Facebook page, and read more about this film (no mention of Isabel) at Nowness.com.
A street-stranded mermaid fends off a kitsch beast in Monster Love, a new VHS-recorded promo directed by Soko, who also stars alongside Morgan Krantz and actor, model and marine activist Hannah Fraser. Filmed in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles, the short is soundtracked by a song that shares its title, the French polymath’s brand new duet with Los Angeles’ lo-fi underground star, Ariel Pink, that will feature on her forthcoming album. “The whole thing was super DIY and felt like making a school project video with all my friends,” she says. Born in Bordeaux, Soko has starred in a number of films in her homeland, and recently attracted much acclaim in Augustine, a sensuous, César-nominated tale about a 19th-century maid consigned to an asylum. But despite her passion for acting, music remains Soko’s most cherished source of creativity. She has just released her debut album I Thought I Was an Alien in the US, which opens with the stripped-down and haunting track that also features here: “I Just Want to Make It New With You,” written with her collaborator Pink in mind. “We were friends, falling in love, but he was just out of a relationship and I—as always—was broken hearted,” the singer says of a near miss that was the catalyst for today’s film, in which she falls for the luckless protagonist. “We hadn’t shed the heaviness of our past. I imagined that after relationships, we all turn into some sort of monster, and only if we stop being monstrous will we ever be able to be real lovers again.” We got the two together to talk about recording, acting, and the logistics behind becoming a mermaid. Here is another short video clip from the set of Careful What You Wish For. Again, it autoplays and goes on repeat, so watch out!
