Support Sea Shepherd

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.

Sea Shepherd could not think of a more brave, passionate and dedicated activist and friend of the whales, than Isabel Lucas, also known for her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Isabel has stepped up for duty for the oceans numerous times, including raising international awareness by attempting to stop annual slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan in 2007.

"When you're 10 years old, you're at an impressionable age and a lot of life lessons are subconscious. Kakadu was a unique experience and I think that's where I developed a very real connection to nature. "

Isabel was snapped running errands and picking up some vitamins in Silver Lake in LA last week, and I’ve now added photos from the sighting to our Gallery for you. Her sweater is so pretty!

Just a very small update today – I’ve added another 13 HQ photos from Friday’s Young Hollywood Awards. I’ve been searching but haven’t found anything else from this event yet – no videos or articles/quotes/tidbits, unfortunately!

I’ll add the latest set of candids for you later today too…

Isabel looked stunning last night at the Young Hollywood Awards, wearing a floor length halter neck white lace gown with embroidering and tiny flower detailing. Her blonde was left casually down with a loose braid round the back. Accessories wise, she keeps it simple as always, with small pearl earrings and a silver clutch. I love this look on Isabel! She looks sophisticated but keeps her look unique and true to herself.

Inside the event, we of course know that Isabel was honoured with the Star Of Tomorrow Female award, and this was presented to her by her Red Dawn co-star Josh Peck.

The first HQ photos have been added to our Gallery, and many more are on their way! I’ll also be updating this post with any videos, tidbits, quotes, articles etc. I can find during the day from the event. Hopefully some red carpet videos will turn up. All being well we’ll have a video of the award presentation itself next week, after the show airs on TV on Thursday.

What are your thoughts on Isabel’s look? Tell us in the comments!

EDIT: I’ve now added another 89 photos from the event, 53 of which are in HQ! Big thanks to Claudia and Sam for their help collecting the HQs for Isabel Lucas Online. There are some really nice photos of Isabel posing with other honorees and young celebs inside the event – don’t miss the pic of her having a good laugh with Josh Peck inside! She seems to be having fun and enjoying the night.

I’ve also discovered that Isabel’s dress is Ralph Lauren.

Even more exciting news for us this evening – Isabel is rumoured to be joining the cast of a new thriller movie, entitled The Loft! Let’s hope it pans out … we’ll keep you posted!

Anonymous Content has found the first of several leading ladies for its edgy thriller “Loft,” as Aussie actress Isabel Lucas is in negotiations to join the ensemble cast.

Patrick Wilson, James Marsden, Wentworth Miller and “Modern Family’s” Eric Stonestreet are set to star in Erik Van Looy’s English-language remake of his own 2008 Belgian pic.

Indie follows five married friends who share a loft where each of them bring their mistresses. When the body of an unknown woman is found in the loft, they begin to suspect one another of murder.

Lucas will play “Sarah,” a naive young beauty who unexpectedly comes into the lives of the five friends.

“A Nightmare on Elm St.” scribe Wesley Strick is adapting Bart De Pauw’s original screenplay. Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Paul Green, Matt DeRoss and Adam Shulman will produce along with original “Loft” producer Hilde DeLaere of Belgian banner Woestijnvis. Production is expected to begin later this spring.

Lucas, best known for her villainous turn in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” recently appeared in HBO’s miniseries “The Pacific.” Thesp will soon be seen playing the Greek goddess Athena in Relativity Media’s “Immortals,” and also co-stars in MGM’s “Red Dawn” remake alongside Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. Lucas is set to be honored with the Female Star of Tomorrow award at tonight’s Young Hollywood Awards.

Lucas is repped by UTA and by Meissner Management in Australia.

After a whole lot of work, the first page of our all-new Style section is now complete! The Lookbooks page is designed to help give you inspiration for Isabel-style outfits, and features collections of photos highlighting aspects of Isabel’s style – from glamourous party wear, to airport looks, to festival style. Several weeks (or months) ago, I thought to myself it would be helpful for fashion fans to have something like this, where you can browse through photos of different aspects of Isabel’s style quickly, instead of having to sort through each gallery page, and so you can take inspiration from how she wears different clothes when you’re wanting to buy/put together outfits yourself. If you’re looking for a fun, new way to wear a summer dress, for example, and want something in the style of what Isabel would wear, this page is here to help you with that!

The page is basically complete, but needs a bit of tweaking. If you have suggestions for any lookbooks you’d like to see, then don’t hesitate to drop me a line! I’ll be adding lookbooks for denim, summer style and winter clothing soon.

I’m pretty happy with this new, original, page, so I hope you all enjoy it too!

Do you have what it takes to be a Greek God or Goddess? If so, then Relativity Media – the studio behind the visually spectacular 3D action adventure Immortals – wants you to sign up right away! Exclusively offered via Facebook today (May 18th), the Relativity-Archaia Immortals promotion sponsored by Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, will crown the winners on July 1 with a king’s ransom-worth of prizes, including a grand prize where contest winners will be immortalized as graphic novel characters with the “reveal” taking place at the Archaia panel during Comic-Con in a special photo-op ceremony. Winners will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to San Diego to attend the 2011 Comic-Con International. The package includes airfare, hotel accommodations, and exclusive access to special Immortals events throughout the convention.

Entrants will share their reasons why they are the perfect candidate to become the Greek God (Apollo) or Goddess (Artemis) via the Facebook application form. The top-10 entries (five women and five men) with the most “Likes” at the end of the contest period will be asked to submit “authentic” audition tapes for the roles to Relativity Media. The film’s celebrated Director Tarsem Singh will select his two favorites (one man, one woman) and they will be crowned the winners.

Isabel is known for 3 things now – her film and tv work, her charitable endeavours, and – probably what is most talked about – her style. We have the career and charity covered here on the site already, and then I thought it would be fun to do something to celebrate her style too … so I decided to start a new Style section here! None of the pages in the section currently work as I’m in the process of putting everything together. You can see what’s to come in it by the pages listed in the section now, and there may be more added.

I know many of us absolutely love Isabel’s style (for me, I love it more and more each new candid outfit we see!) so I really hope you’ll enjoy this new section when it’s fully complete. I’m hoping to get a couple of the pages up tomorrow, so check back then.

In the meantime though, I need your input! Firstly, what are your favourite outfits from Isabel’s public appearances? Do you have any further ideas for pages for our Style section/anything else you’d like to see covered in it? And finally, I’d love to find some fans who are able to help identify the designer of, and find out where you can buy her clothes or similar items. If you’re able to help with any of these 3 requests then just get in touch – email, comment here, or tweet us – I’d really love to hear from you!

I just came across this article about Isabels brief involvement in a new book about ocean conservation. The book is available to purchase at SeaVoices.com.

La Jolla High School alum Duffy Healy (Class of ’86) nurtured his love for the ocean growing up surfing local breaks and met his match in wife Elizabeth, a Laguna Beach native who shares his desire to protect the ocean. The couple, who now call San Clemente home, have come to realize that while they belong to a community of ocean conservationists, that simply isn’t good enough. The Healys are now raising awareness about the dire issues facing the world oceans in a new book, “Sea Voices, Working Toward a Sea Change.”

“We have been on the board of Oceana for years, but the idea for the book occurred to us while attending a fundraiser called “Sea Change in Laguna Beach,” Elizabeth said. “These fundraisers are very exclusive and cost a lot of money to attend. And while they do raise money for ocean awareness, it is almost as if the speakers are preaching to the choir because everyone shares that interest already. Duffy and I wanted to round up athletes, authors, musicians and celebrities to generate even more attention.”

The couple interviewed 138 people for “Sea Voices,” which is written in a question-and-answer format. The book boasts interviews with ocean experts like famous female oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle, Dr. Robert Ballard (noted for discovering the Titanic), Captain Paul Watson from Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (you may know him from the TV show “Whale Wars”) author and ecologist Carl Safina, British adventurer David de Rothschild, Jacques Cousteau’s grandchildren Alexandra and Fabien Cousteau, and many others.

The interviews in “Sea Voices” aren’t limited to ocean experts, though. The Healys also sat down with musicians like Jack Johnson, San Diego native Jason Mraz, Garret Dutton (aka G Love), Yoko Ono, Stefan Lessard (of the Dave Matthews Band) and Ziggy Marley.

Environmentally conscious actors like Daryl Hannah, Ted Danson, Q’orianka Kilcher, Isabel Lucas, Kate Walsh, Sam Waterson, Keely and Pierce Brosnan, and others were also eager to chat about why protecting the ocean is of such vital importance to all.
