Isabel’s management company, Meissner Management, reports that Isabel has been cast as Erica in the re-make of Red Dawn. This re-make is to be directed by Dan Bradley, and stars Chris Hemsworth (Isabel’s friend/ex-costar/ex-boyfriend!), Josh Hutcherson, Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki. IMDB has a release date set at 24th September 2010, but I haven’t seen any details on when and where filming will take place yet. You can read more about the original film at Wikipedia or IMDB, and stay tuned here for further news on Izzy’s involvement in the new version! Thanks so much to Ida for the heads-up on this! |

I’ve added more screencaps from Home & Away today – from an episode, some opening credits, and a preview clip. The quality of some of these isn’t great, but that’s the quality of the video, and it’s definitely better than nothing • Preview – 2003 Final Week x10 |

Hayden Panettiere has posted a blog at TakePart.com about her fight to save the whales and dolphins. Although this is not really Isabel news, Hayden does mention Izzy briefly, and I thought this might interest some visitors.

Doco-thriller The Cove has got people talking all over the world, but the film’s director says Australians in particular should take notice. The expose on dolphin slaughter in the village of Taiji, Japan has been collecting awards at film festivals around the globe, including two of the audience awards at the Sydney Film Festival last month. Director Louis Psihoyos is in Australia to show The Cove at the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), and says he hopes to galvanise local support against the practice. “To me it’s like Australians are on the frontlines of this war, and it is a war at the bottom of the world to save the planet,” Psihoyos told AAP. “I really feel like it’s really important to give people here, organisations here, something to rally around.” |

The Toronto International Film Festival announces its complete 22nd Midnight Madness programme, a Festival favourite drawing legions of devoted fans for manic midnight screenings of wild and wicked films for the witching hour. Midnight Madness continues to offer films that you might not expect in a festival context, an eccentric mix of the weird and the wonderful, and this year’s features include crazed animation, chick fights, zombies, vampires, a possessed cheerleader, exhilarating martial arts and more! “This year’s Midnight Madness lineup is a showcase of some of the most highly anticipated thrillers and chillers of the year,” said Colin Geddes, TIFF programmer. “Bloody proms and zombies seem to pop up as main themes, but I’ve made sure to inject some truly bizarre action into the mix with animated plastic toys from Belgium and Russ Meyer inspired fighting femme fatales.” The Midnight Madness Package is $156.51, and available to students and seniors for $100 (prices do not include GST, building-fund fee and service charges). Other ticket packages for the Festival are also available for purchase by cash, debit or Visa†. Purchase online at tiff.net/thefestival, by phone at 416-968-FILM or 1-877-968-FILM (Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed weekends and holidays) or in person at the Festival Box Office at Nathan Phillips Square (Box Office hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week), located at 100 Queen Street West, in the white tent, west of the square. The 34th Toronto International Film Festival runs September 10 to 19, 2009.
